Tuesday - Gers and the train

Today was a very lucky day, as I managed to stand in a large and sticky cow pat, and was told that in Mongolia this is a sign of good luck. Nothing like making a blessing out of an adversity.
This happened at the ger of a famer we visited. It was a winter site with a byre made of wattle and daub, and some enclosures to hold the animals. At one level very basic , but he also had a tv and electricity , so a blend of worlds.

After a quick trip to check out the wonderful Mongolian boots and hats (which I was dissuaded/forbidden to buy,) we found our train and settled down for our 5 days on the road.
